The British University Vietnam (BUV), the first British owned University in Vietnam, has announced the opening of its new campus in Ecopark development area in the northern province of Hung Yen.
BUV signed a memorandum with Viet Hung Urban Development and Investment JSC, investors of the Project for infrastructure development of the Van Giang Commerce and Tourism Township (Ecopark), to locate their main campus within the Ecopark development area on May 11.
The main campus will be designed by renowned international architects and is expected to be operational within 3 years. In the meantime students can study at the University City campus located at 193 Ba Trieu street. HRH Prince Andrew, the Duke of York inaugurated the city campus on September 2009.
The main campus will eventually have a student population of 10,000 and will include student accommodation, sports facilities and a learning environment at par with the best British education.
Sir Graeme Davies, the President of British University Vietnam and until recently the President of the University of London commented, "We are delighted with the signing of this agreement to locate our main campus at Ecopark. It helps us to create the ideal learning environment for our students and is a big step for our development in Vietnam.”
The University plans to open in Ho Chi Minh City too in the near future.
British University Vietnam, a 100 percent foreign owned university invested by the United Kingdom, established by a decree dated 09 May 2009 by the Prime Minister of Vietnam. British University Vietnam teaches registered students in three majors: International Business Management, Marketing Management, Banking and Finance.
With 100 percent foreign lecturers, British University Vietnam is the first UK University in Vietnam to offer students a modern learning environment under international quality standards.
