British Queen’s diamond jubilee celebrations in Vietnam with performances by Black Voices

Black Voices have been invited by the British Council in Vietnam with support from Diageo Vietnam to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Their first public show in Vietnam will be held at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House on 7 Cong Truong Lam Son Street in District 1 at 8.00pm on May 20.  Tickets can be purchased at the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet, Symphony and Orchestra Office.

The group will perform at the Hanoi Opera House on 1 Trang Tien Street on May 21. Tickets can be purchased online via ticketvn@gmail.com or call 0913489858 or 0983067996.

Tickets are priced at: VND150,000; 250,000; 350,000; 500,000. There is a discount price for students: VND100.000

The last performance by ‘Black Voices’ will be an invitation-only event on May 22 at the British Ambassador’s residence.

The group will also conduct master classes for singers at the Vietnam National Academy of Music; the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet in Hanoi; the Music Conservatory; and the Ballet, Symphony & Orchestra in HCMC.

‘Black Voices’ have entertained world Presidents including Nelson Mandela, the Late Pope, most members of the British Royal Family and have also shared the stage with musical greats like Ray Charles and Nina Simone.

For over 24 years, ‘Black Voices’ has steadily built a reputation for delivering stunning performances through soulful and inspirational music. Their ever-growing repertoire includes spiritual, traditional African, Caribbean and English folk songs as well as jazz, gospel, pop and reggae.

The group has worked with a mix of composers and arrangers from the UK in extending the range and diversity of its music.
