Australian wine and food show returns to town

The show will bring together Ho Chi Minh City’s Australian wine and food importers, and Australian exporters interested in the Vietnamese market, the Consulate General said in a statement.

The event is seen as an opportunity for both commercial buyers and members of the public to sample a broad range of high quality Australian produce.

Over 200 premium Australian wine labels will be featured and complimented by quality Australian food products. Several winemakers will travel from Australia to participate in the event, according to the organizers.

An Australian Wine Challenge will be held at the Caravelle Hotel on June 2 with the aim of unveiling the best Australian wines currently available in Vietnam.

During the two-day show, a trade exhibition will be held on the June 3 afternoon, followed by a gala dinner. The dinner will feature cuisine prepared by the Caravelle Hotel’s Mr Darren Watson, chef at the iconic The Reflection restaurant.

The six-course meal will showcase the best of Australian produce matched with the winning wines from the Australian Wine Challenge, the organizers said.

The Food and Wine Show public day will be held on June 4 from 1 to 4pm. Tickets for the public day are VND300, 000 per person, available from Vino, Bacchus Corner and The Warehouse.
