Vietnam sports delegation have decided to select swimming athlete Hoang Quy Phuoc to hold the Vietnamese national flag at the opening ceremony of the 27th Sea Games at Nay Pyi Taw in Myanmar on evening of December 12.
Quy Phuoc is a swimming athlete from Da Nang, who has been a champion in the men’s 100m freestyle category and 100m butterfly category.
Quy Phuoc is one of Vietnam’s best athletes and is expected to win the gold medal in the men’s swimming category at this year’s Sea Games. Besides, Quy Phuoc and Nguyen Thi Anh Vien are two athletes that are expected to win from 5-6 gold medals for Vietnam in the swimming category.
Lam Quang Thanh, Head of the delegation, said that leaders of the Vietnam sports delegation are convinced of Quy Phuoc’s abilities and hence selected him to hold the Vietnamese national flag at the opening ceremony of Sea Games.
