The General Statistics Office of Vietnam said that in the first six months of this year, nearly 67,000 new enterprises had been registered for establishment with total registered capital of VND860.2 trillion, up nearly 4 percent in the number of enterprises but up nearly 33 percent in the value of registered capital compared to the same period last year. Moreover, firms also added an additional capital of VND1.31 quadrillion to the economy.
Noticeably, 21,600 firms had resumed operation in the first half of this year, up 31.4 percent over the same period last year, sending total number of newly-established and operation-resumed firms to 88,600. However, in the same period, 21,100 firms temporarily halted operation; 21,800 stopped operation to wait for procedures for dissolution; and 7,800 completed procedures for dissolution.
