The American Center under the United States Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City celebrated its 4th anniversary of establishment yesterday.
US Consul General in HCMC Rena Bitter said that the center had welcomed over 80,000 Vietnamese patrons to the center during 4 years.
The center has played an important role in boosting education cooperation between the two countries, she said.
This is “the glue” that strengthens people-to-people ties as President Barack Obama called, she added.
The American Center hosts a wide range of activities and programs, from English language to entrepreneurship, teaching methods, business skills and technology. It is also home to a library, which is a symbol of academic freedom, research and public discourse.
It is a place where people come together to exchange ideas and to expand their minds.
