Jetstar Pacific Airlines has announced that it will reopen its Hanoi-Nha Trang air route from May 24, with two flights per day.
The airline had temporarily discontinued the flights on this route last September, due to a low passenger volume.
Domestic airlines are resuming flights as well as opening new air-routes, in anticipation of the coming summer season.
Vietnam Airlines is gearing up to open direct flights to the UK from Vietnam. The airline is planning to operate one non-stop flight from Hanoi and two flights from Ho Chi Minh City to London.
Direct flights between Vietnam and the UK will help promote trade as well as boost cultural exchange between the two countries, besides gearing up for the London Olympics 2012.
On May 9, Vietnam Aviation Service Company (VASCO), a member of Vietnam Airlines, announced that it would launch a flight connecting the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho to Con Dao Island from June 1. VASCO is scheduled to operate four flights per week, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The fare for a one-way ticket will be VND400, 000.
