“A Night of Sonic Wonders” to take place in Hanoi

“A Night of Sonic Wonders” program featuring works in the fields of contemporary sound art and performance will take place at the Goethe Institute in Hanoi on July 15.

Vietnamese atist Dao Anh Khanh and six foreign artists will join the show, including Kazehito Seki, Sato Yukie of Japan; Shayne Bowde of Australia; Fu aka Nelson Landwerh, Daniel Maszkowicz and Nikola H.Mounoud of Switzerland.
It is an unique occasion to meet internationally-recognized artists.
Kazehito Seki is a Voice and Noise artist hustling in between Noise and Hardcore, from Tokyo, now moving to Berlin. For more than 10 years, Kazehito has been fusing his voice with electronic noises. In 2012, he joined in a Voiz group called Toyko Voiz Choir. Nowadays, besides his solos and various bands, he collaborates with various kinds of artists including musicians and dancers.
Sato Yukie is a guitarist, vocalist, composer and improviser. He is the leader of rock band “Kopchangjeongol” that is the first Japanese band publicly debuted in Korea in 1999. He has been an acknowledged master of experimental/avant-garde/improvisation art called “Bulgasari” since Seoul 2003.He has joined the Korean International Experimental Arts Festival (“Jeju International Experimental Arts Festival” now) with butoh artist Fujieda Mushimaru from 2003 (still now). And he has performed on numerous stages with other butoh artists, such as Katsura Kan, Tsuruyama Kinya (Zulu), and more. He also writes and performs scores for movies, musicals and plays.
Shayne Bowden is a sound artist and curator based in Sydney and Fukuoka City, Japan. In 2008 he started the annual AGAINST Fukuoka Extreme Music/Film Festival. He has performed in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Hong Kong and the U.S. He has recorded and performed with Nick Hoffman, Guilty C, Anla Courtis, Bastard Noise, Anthony Guerra, Toshimaru Nakamura, Tetuzi Akiyama and Rob Mayson.
Fu aka Nelson Landwerh FU aka Nelson Landwerh is a musician from alternative noise scene in Switzerland. With the impressive sounds and intriguing sets, he builds immersive soundscapes with hypnotic beats and subtle melodies.
Daniel Maszkowicz works on SuperCollider, a platform for audio synthesis and algorithmic composition which he brings together an infinity of digital function generators. With his music, he creates a massive polyphonic and multichannel soundscape where frequencies merge into an intense magma of resonating waves, bringing the audience into an immersive hypnotic atmosphere.
Sound artist or musician a.k.a. Nikola Mounoud is also member of the LUFF – Lausanne Underground Film & Music Festival. He is also
Co-founder of the associative photo & cinema laboratory “On fait du l’art !” in Lausanne, Switzerland. He has focused on the exploration of both analogue and digital feedback as sound source. He uses a laptop and an analogue mixer to produce his live compositions.
Dao Anh Khanh is a surrealist. He is an internationally recognized leader among Asian artists who are breaking away from traditional, stylistic, and political constraint. The artist is also an avowed environmentalist, sculptor, performing artist, musician and painter. His paintings are in lacquer on canvas as well as lacquer on wood.
