The ninth Ho Chi Minh City Book Festival under theme of “Books – Culture – Integration and Development” was opened at Le Van Tam Park in HCMC on March 21.

This year’s book festival covering 700 booths will display more than 30 million books from 172 domestic publishers and 36 foreign publishers. And this is the first time Japanese and Korean publishers participated in the city’s book festival.
During the one week book festival, many preferential programs will be presented for readers such as getting discount of up to 10-20 percent on the first four days, nearly 50 percent in last three days.
Attending in the opening ceremony were Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Training Lam Thi Phuong Thanh, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan, Head of the Department of Propaganda and Education of the HCMC Party Committee Than Thi Thu, Deputy Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Thu and crowded book- lovers.
The book exhibition will open from 8am to 10pm everyday on March 21- 27.
