This is the third time the competition has been launched, and once again it aims to acknowledge and honor the selfless work of physicians to save lives of patients. It also aims to encourage medical workers to uphold a good and noble image of the ‘white blouse soldier’, said Nguyen Thi Kim Tien, Health Minister.

The Minister emphasized that the last two competitions received press entries, which shows the sympathy of writers towards medical workers.

The writing competition will last from July 15, 2013 to December 15, 2014. All citizens in the country above 15-years-of-age and also professional and amateur writers are eligible for the competition.

The ministry, the competition’s organizer, especially encourages residents in distant, mountainous and islands to participate.

Prizes will be awarded on the 60th anniversary of Vietnam Physician Day on February 27, 2015.
