LONDON, March 6, 2011 (AFP) - Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has declared himself fit to play in Tuesday's Champions League last 16 second leg against Barcelona.
Wilshere looked likely to miss the Nou Camp clash after Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admitted the England international wouldn't take part in training on Sunday after suffering an ankle injury in Saturday's 0-0 draw against Sunderland.
But Wilshere has since revealed the problem is not serious and that he will be available for the trip to Spain, which will see Arsenal try to protect a 2-1 lead from the first leg.
The teenager said on his Twitter account: "Just to let you know i am not injured and if selected will be fit to face Barca! Few kicks but nothing too bad!"
Wilshere's presence would be a welcome boost for Arsenal with several key players already sidelined for Tuesday's showdown.
Robin van Persie and Theo Walcott will miss out, while captain Cesc Fabregas and Alex Song are both racing to be fit in time for the clash.
