Thousands of people poured onto the streets of Ho Chi Minh City to celebrate Vietnam’s victory shortly after the final whistle of the first leg of the 2026 ASEAN Cup final on the evening of August 22.
At Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, crowds grew increasingly large, with many people carrying national flags, banners and horns while chanting the name of the Vietnam national team.
From Nguyen Hue Street, enthusiastic crowds continued to spread onto Le Loi, Pasteur, Dong Khoi and Ton Duc Thang streets. Long lines of people stretched along the roads, while traffic moved slowly amid the sound of car horns, horns and cheers.
