They exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern and expressed their wish to boost information exchange for peace, stability, co-operation and development.

On the occasion, the Emir invited President Sang to visit Qatar and the latter accepted the invitation with pleasure.

The Emir was also received by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

Dung said he wanted the two countries to promote more trade activities and take two-way commerce turn-over to an even higher figure.

He said Viet Nam was willing to co-operate with Qatar on oil, labour and agriculture and would support Qatar to set up a training and recruitment centre for Vietnamese labourers.

In addition, he said the Vietnamese Government was ready to co-operate with Qatar to establish a joint investment fund.

Hamad said Qatar would always create favourable conditions and stand by to receive workers from Viet Nam.

Also yesterday, the National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung received the Emir.

Hung welcomed the Emir's suggestion that co-operation be developed in fields that both nations were strong in.

He called on the two sides to tap into each country's competitive edge. For Quatar, this meant its strong financial ability, while for Viet Nam it meant the large pool of labour.
