Huynh Dam, Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front, paid a visit to Vietnam’s highly revered soldier General Vo Nguyen Giap yesterday in Hanoi, to wish the General on his 100th birthday (August 25).
On behalf of the leaders of Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Vietnamese people, the Chairman congratulated the General and spoke highly of his contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.The Chairman wished General Giap good health and longevity and hoped the General would serve as a bright example and source of great pride for the Vietnamese Party, the State and the people.Additionally, a photo exhibition featuring about 200 pictures of General Vo Nguyen Giap opened at 45 Trang Tien Street in Hanoi.“General Vo Nguyen Giap is amongst the greatest military strategists of all times. He was an excellent disciple of President Ho Chi Minh and his name will go down in history as a protector of the Vietnamese people and the Vietnamese People’s Army,” said President Truong Tan Sang at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, organized by the Ministry of Information and Communication.
