He will sit for a photo shoot with the pageant contestants and take part in some activities arranged by the Mister International organization to promote his image.

He is very proud because for the first time a Vietnamese is on the jury of a beauty contest in a country of beauty, Mr. Doan said. He hoped his presence in Venezuela would help the world know more about Vietnam and its people.

Asked about the difference between Asian and Western beauty, he said: “I don’t think they are much different. A handsome man needs to have a healthy, well-proportioned body, self-confident face, broad knowledge, and a compassionate heart.”

The final of the Mister Venezuela pageant is scheduled for April 30 and will feature swimwear, costume, tuxedo, and Q&A rounds.

The winner will represent Venezuela at the 2009 Mister International contest.
