Vietnam’s Book Day to be celebrated April 21

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung approved of a new national holiday, Vietnam Book Day, to be celebrated every year on April 21.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung approved of a new national holiday, Vietnam Book Day, to be celebrated every year on April 21.

The holiday aims to encourage and develop reading and raise awareness of importance of books as a tool for critical thinking. It will also celebrate appreciation for readers, writers, publishers, distributors, and other affiliates of the publishing industry.

Prime Minister Dung assigned the Ministry of Information and Communications to cooperate with relevant ministries and departments to organize events for the holiday.
