Three Vietnamese students won top prizes at the Val Tidone International Music Competition that took place in Piacenza in Italy from June 10-17.
Nguyen Dang Quang, a piano student at the Vietnam National Academy of Music in Hanoi won the first prize in Category B under-15 age group.
Pham Quang Huy, an accordion-guitar-jazz student at the Vietnam National Academy of Music in Hanoi received the second prize in Category C under-19 age group.
Ta Quang Vu, who is studying piano in Russia, got the second prize in Category B.
Luu Quang Minh, concert accordionist, professor and pro-rector of the Vietnam National Academy of Music was invited as a member of the jury in the competition.
The Val Tidone International Music Competition is a prestigious annual contest held in Piacenza in Italy. The event has been a member of the Alink-Argerich Foundation since 2003.
The music contest requires highly professional standards. Therefore a prize obtained in this contest represents a valuable passport towards an international career.
The 10th Val Tidone International Music Competition 2012 attracted 128 contestants and 39 groups from countries and territories throughout the world like Russia, Germany, the US, France, Poland, Switzerland, China, Japan, Vietnam, Hong Kong (China), South Korea and Spain.
