The activity took place as part of a meeting of members of the ASEAN Ladies Circle in Malaysia, which is chaired by Vietnam in 2019. It aimed to bolster friendship and intra-bloc solidarity.

Traditional Vietnamese dishes such as pho, nem ran (fried spring rolls) and goi cuon (fresh spring rolls), among others, were served at the event.

Pham Thi Hong Lien, spouse of Vietnamese Ambassador to Malaysia Le Quy Quynh, also taught participants how to make nem ran.

Vietnam’s history, custom, cultural characteristics and tourist attractions were also introduced at the event, along with art performances staged by Vietnamese representative offices in Malaysia.
