Tuyet Lan, runner-up of Vietnam’s Next Top Model 2010, won the Asian Model Search contest in Singapore last week.
The model triumphed over contestants from countries such as Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, China, Hong Kong (China), Taiwan (China), Japan, South Korea and India by her sheer confidence and professionalism on the catwalk and in shootings.
The organizers will plan activities to promote the image of Tuyet Lan in Singapore and other countries in the region.
The model said that she will donate a part of her cash prize of SGD10, 000 to Japanese disaster victims and the Thi Nghe Center for Orphans and Disabled Children in Ho Chi Minh City.
In related news, Phan Thi Huong Giang, the first runner-up in the 2009 Miss Jewellery contest, won the Miss Internet Popularity prize of the Miss Global Beauty Queen 2011 contest in Korea held from May 3 to 10.
She now advances to the semi finals of Miss Global Beauty Queen 2011, together with other 14 semi finalists who will compete on the final night at Seoul Plaza Square.
This year’s contest theme is “Beauty with a Heart” aimed to raise funds to support orphans, disadvantaged elderly and disaster victims.
More than 60 beauty queens from across the world will participate in the contest. They will compete in categories of traditional costume, evening gown, bikini and talent. They will also attend a charity auction.
