Among these, 14,179 tourist cars were sold, an increase of 10 percent; 9,137 commercial vehicles, up 1.5 percent and 1,049 of dedicated cars, down 20 percent from the last month.
For the first six months of 2017, 134,273 vehicles were sold, down 1 percent compared to the same period of last year.
The consumption of locally assembled cars was 96,703, down 6 percent while the consumption of imported cars reached 37,565, up 15 percent from the same period last year.
Consumers are planning to buy new cars, as the import tax on vehicles will drop to 0 percent in early next year, said the association.
