Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and Hanoi National University yesterday co-organized a ceremony in Hanoi to mark the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cuba.
Speaking at the ceremony, Politburo member, Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Popularization and Education Dinh The Huynh stressed: “Vietnam and Cuba officially have established its diplomatic relations since December 2, 1960. To mark the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations, Vietnam and Cuba organized important events aiming to develop the solidarity, comprehensive cooperation between two countries”.
Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Herminio Lopez Diaz said: “Although Vietnam and Cuba had many differences such as location, language and habits and customs but two countries had closely connected in protecting nation's independence, sovereignty, peace and sustainable development”.
