Vietjet Air fires flight coordinator for wrong landing incident

Vietnam's sole privately-owned and -operated airline Vietjet Air decided to fire a flight coordinator on July 20, one month  after the local carrier made national headlines as one of its planes landed at a wrong airport.

Before, the captain of the Airbus A320 aircraft carrying more than 200 passengers, who was not informed of the changed air route, landed in Cam Ranh airport in the coastal province of Khanh Hoa, while he was supposed to fly to Da Lat in the Central Highlands on June 19.

Vietjet Air  has issued penalties on those involved. The slightest fine is warning, suspension, cut one-month salary. All involved staffs must pay compensation for losses. In addition to paying compensation, the flight planners were given the sack.

The carrier’s management board is decisive to improve service and operation quality.
