The coal powered plant’s capacity will soon rise to 250 MW when it reaches the desirable latent heat.
The first stage of the project was funded US$300 million to build a plant with a capacity of 300 MW per day.
The plant connected to the national power grid for the first time on December 18, 2006 but after a short time, it had to call a halt due to a technical breakdown.
The plant is expected to contribute around 2.68 billion kilowatts a year to the country’s electricity grid.
