Vietnamese chess player Pham Le Thao Nguyen won Russian competitor Aleksandra Goryachkina after two leg away games of the second round of the 2017 Women’s World Chess Championship in Iran yesterday evening (local time).

After five hour chess game, Thao Nguyen defeated the Russia player with a final victory of 1.5- 0.5.
In the next round, Thao Nguyen will face Ukraine player Muzychuk Anna, who is ranked the third position at the world chess ranking table with an average Elo of 2558.
As plan, the third round will take place from February 17- 19.
