Secretary Le Thanh Hai pays tribute to Prof. Tran Van Khe

Mr. Le Thanh Hai deeply condoled with family of Prof. Tran Van Khe and wrote in the funeral memorial book “Say good bye Prof. Tran Van Khe, who presented his career for Vietnamese traditional music conservation and development, an outstanding model for uninterrupted work, create and good heart.”


On Saturday, hundreds of domestic and foreign individuals and organizations burnt incenses and laid wreaths to express their gratitude and respect to the grand professor.

Prof. Tran Van Khe’s coffin will leave the house at 6am on June 29 for cremation at Hoa Vien Chanh Phu Hoa Cemetary in Binh Duong’s Ben Cat district.

Prof.Tran Van Khe, a Vietnamese musicologist, academic, writer, teacher and performer of traditional music; and director of research at The French National Centre for Scientific Research and professor at the Sorbonne, passed away on June 24 in Gia Dinh Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City at the old age of 94.
