This conference was held in Quy Nhon city of Binh Dinh province on May 9 – 10 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Rencontres du Vietnam.
President Tran Dai Quang appreciated scientists’s contribution and expressed his congratulation to all wonderful results achieved by the Rencontres du Vietnam in the last 25 years.
He also thanked the genuine affection of all participants, be they scientists, politicians, policy makers, or representatives of major international corporations, towards the Rencontres du Vietnam, making it a bridge to connect local science with the global one and an important factor in science and education development in Vietnam.
The President affirmed that the Central Party as well as the State always pays great attention to the growth of science and education in the country since it is considered the leading national policy to foster a sustainable development of the nation.
He also praised Binh Dinh Province for its considerable effort in helping the Rencontres du Vietnam to effectively operate the International Centre for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE) from 2013, transforming Quy Nhon City into a regular scientific destination of both local and international scientists.
Recalling his wonderful experience when visiting the ICISE in June 2016, he showed his deepest respect to Doctor Tran Thanh Van and his wife, Doctor Le Kim Ngoc, because of their invaluable contribution to the country.
“To me, this new model of organization has scored a great success. It has gradually become a major scientific research center and a symbol of pride as well as patriotism. I hope that in the future, related governmental bodies, along with scientists from all over the world, continue to help Binh Dinh Province and the two founders to turn ICISE into a more practical and effective center for the sake of science and education development in the whole nation. This, in turn, will become the base for the sustainable economic and social growth of Vietnam”, said the President.
