Schools must conduct lessons on traffic safety regulations and integrate learning of traffic rules in extra curricular activities in the new academic year.

This year the traffic safety theme will be ‘Establish traffic order and fight congestion on streets in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City’.

The Ministry has asked localities to propagate these traffic safety rules to office staff, teachers and students so that they do not drink while riding motorbikes, always wear helmets while driving and obey traffic regulations on streets.

Universities and colleges must increase teaching time for traffic safety regulations on the first day of the week and integrate learning of traffic rules with extra curricular activities.

Students are encouraged to participate in controlling traffic gridlock on streets and in the new school year, fresh students must also be taught traffic rules in cities.

To lend more focus on traffic safety, the Government has decided to organize a commemorative ceremony for traffic accident victims on November 19, 2012.

Accordingly, in response to this decision and to raise awareness of traffic safety among students, the ministry has ordered all educational institutes to hold a speech and a one minute of silence in memory of traffic accident victims in the country on November 12.
