One Sua sapling now fetches VND15,000-18,000.

Nguyen Hoang Tuan, owner of a Sua sapling nursery on Nguyen Luong Bang Street in Buon Ma Thuot City in Dak Lak Province, says every day he sells hundred to a thousand Sua tree saplings. Some traders even buy large quantities to resell.

Nguyen Van Sinh, deputy director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in Dak Lak Province, said that it is not difficult to grow Sua trees but it takes more than 20 years for them to be ready for cutting.

He warned that if residents focus on growing this variety of tree, they might suffer losses as there is no guarantee that Sua timber will not depreciate in later years.
