The Prime Minister highly appreciated the great effort of the whole nation in general, particularly of Quang Nam Province, in caring, protecting, and educating the young.
He added that the goal of this academic year is to improve the quality of both knowledge and moral training.
In related news, the Quang Nam Province Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs collaborated with the People’s Committee of Duy Xuyen District to hold a similar meeting on September 7 for children in the area.
Taking part in this event, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh advised that these children should put effort in their learning and practice ‘Uncle Ho’s 5 Lessons for Vietnamese Children’.
She also suggested that the grassroots authorities pay more attention to children and offer opportunities for them to develop mentally and physically. She insisted the importance of a balanced growth between academic knowledge and morality.
On this occasion, representing the National Fund for Vietnamese Children, the Vice President delivered 50 bicycles and 200 gifts worth VND1 million ($43) each to 250 poor children. She also gave referential books worth VND350 million ($15,080) to 5 secondary schools in Duy Xuyen District.
At the moment, there are around 24,000 poor children living in Quang Nam Province, 700 of whom are raised in centers for supporting, caring, and educating children. In this Mid-Autumn Festival, the province is going to provide 8,000 gifts to these poor young people.
