On July 6, the Thien Ngan Company sent a document to related agencies and media asking to verify if any individual or organization launched the film ‘Bui Doi Cho Lon’ (Gangs in Vietnam’s China Town) on the Internet.
Although the Motion Pictures Office had announced a ban on the screening of the film because of its violent content, a draft version of the film was leaked on the Internet on Youtube and other websites.
Leaking the movie on the Internet is illegal as ‘Bui Doi Cho Lon’ was banned from screening. The company has thus asked police to investigate into the leak.
Those responsible attached the name of Galaxy-English on the film, which was gross slander, according to the company, as this is a draft version of the film and not the finished film.
Ngo Phuong Lan, head of Motion Pictures Office, said that the act of leaking the film on the Internet has violated the country’s law. Therefore, on July 5, the company asked the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to investigate the case.
