Painting, songwriting contest on HCM City launched

A painting and songwriting contest marking the 40 years, when the city was renamed from Saigon to Ho Chi Minh in 1976, was launched nationwide on March 2.

A painting and songwriting contest marking the 40 years, when the city was renamed from Saigon to Ho Chi Minh in 1976, was launched nationwide on March 2.

The competition themed on the quality of life, civilization, and modernity of the city
is one of the activities promoting the celebration event.

Submissions must reflect achievements and activities in various fields of the Vietnam’s largest economic and business hub over the last 40 years, such as economy, culture, education and training, science and technology, international integration.

Contestants can directly send their paintings to the Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Exhibition Information Center at 56 Nguyen Thai Binh Street in District 1; and compositions to the Ho Chi Minh City Culture Center at 97 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street in District 1.

The organization board will award one first prize, two second prizes, four third prizes and 10 encouragement prizes.

In addition, the municipal Department of Culture and Sport has opened a logo design contest for its sector to all Vietnamese citizens aged 18 and up.
