One more flyover open to traffic to ease congestion in HCMC

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport allowed vehicles travelling through last branch of steel flyover project at the Nguyen Thai Son-Nguyen Kiem junction in Go Vap district this morning.

Accordingly, the steel flyover project at the Nguyen Thai Son-Nguyen Kiem junction is considered as one of six major projects of Ho Chi Minh City which contributed to the solutions of traffic jam leading to Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

Earlier, the two branches of Hoang Minh Giam – Nguyen Thai Son, Nguyen Kiem- Hoang Minh Giam were put into exploitation. 

The N-shaped steel flyover had a total investment capital of VND 504 billion (US$ 21.7 million).

A section of Nguyen Kiem Street from Phu Nhuan Intersection to Nguyen Thai Son Street was operated for one- way traffic while some streets of Dang Van Sam (at Hoang Minh Giam Street – Nguyen Thai Son Street) and Bui Van Them were allowed vehicles to travel in two- way.

Three flyover branches had total length of nearly 370 meters.
