Mr. Le Minh Triet, director of Saigon Tunnel Management Center that is the investor of the project, said that the two branches would contribute in reducing traffic jam in the center of the city especially at Tran Hung Dao-Nguyen Van Cu crossroads.
Other items of the project such as roads along Tau Hu canal, tree planting and lightning system will be completed before August 30.
The project broke ground on November 29 last year with the total capital of VND168 billion ($7.39 milion).
Branch N1, 300 meter long, permits vehicles from Vo Van Kiet street to reach the bridge. Branch N2, 141 meter long, allows vehicles from Districts 4 and 8 to travel into Vo Van Kiet street.
Stating at the ceremony, deputy chairman of the city People’s Committee Le Van Khoa appraised the project’s investor, construction firms, engineers and workers for working continuously on the construction site even in holidays to build the branches before schedule and contribute in reducing traffic jam in the area.
He required them to build the remaining items before August 30.
