NA Chairwoman meets outstanding ethnic kids

Chairwoman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan yesterday met a delegation of outstanding ethnic minority kids in the third national ethnic festival held in Hanoi.

Sixty-three teachers and 200 ethnic minority kids who achieved good results in studying and other fields from all corners of the country gathered in the festival. Many of them are from poor families, orphans or children of social welfare beneficiaries or families who served in the country’s revolutionary.
Chairwoman Ngan lauded kids’ efforts in learning and practices emphasizing that the Party and the government always take heed to education and allocate spending for children’s right implementation.
Ms. Ngan ordered the agencies and teachers who are responsible for taking care of kids nationwide to pay more attention to educating and nurture kids.
Moreover, shining examples must be emulated. Additionally, teachers should petition related agencies to provide support to disadvantaged children to aid them to overcome daily difficulties in life, Ms. Ngan said.
Besides, responsible agencies and local administration need to strictly carry out policies on educating, taking care of and protecting children especially allocating spending for looking after kids from ethnic minority groups or from low-income families. Teachers must provide soft skills and sexual-abuse prevention education and accident prevention.
