The 2010 Vietnamese teenage star contest (for girls 16-19) kicked off on June 15 in Hanoi.
The 5th event, also called Miss Teen Vietnam, will focus on knowledge (30%), beauty (30%), behavior (20%), friendliness and humanity (20%).
The theme of this year’s contest is “Miss Teen and luggage for life.” Contestants have the chance to contemplate their future deeply, with the goal of attaining a better life so that all their dreams come true.
The first round and semifinal will take place from June 15 to August 10, and from August 15 to September 15.
The jury will whittle thousands of contestants down to one hundred for the final rounds from September 26 to October 11.
Viewers will be able text or call to vote whom will move on to the next round, which contestants should be eliminated, and finally their choice for the year’s winner.
Organizers will announce the Top 20 in the middle of November.
The winner of Miss Teen Vietnam 2010 will receive a cash prize of VND100 million (US$5,000) and has an opportunity to be a representative of the country by participating in Miss Teen Global and Miss Teen World.
