The Ministry of Transport has approved a proposal made by Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) to build a coal trans-shipment port in the southern region.
The port will carry coal to thermal power plants in the Mekong Delta.
As per the Prime Minister’s instruction, Vinacomin will provide the capital as well as construct the coal trans-shipment port.
The group will set up a highly experienced consultancy group, that has the know how in designing high-capacity seaports.
Additionally, they will also analyze technical feasibility and transport methods and ensure that transport cost expenses are at the lowest.
