Director of the Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism of An Giang province, Nguyen Van Len said that An Giang welcomed around 7.3 million tourists and reached a turnover of VND3,700 billion.
Meanwhile about 7.5 million travelers came to Can Tho city, increasing by 41 percent over the same period of 2016. The municipal touristm sector got revenue of VND2,897 billion, up 59 percent compared compared with a year ago.
Kien Giang province had the highest number of turnover of more than 4,580 billion in the Mekong Delta region, exceeding its set plan of 20 percent. The province saw over 6 million holiday-makers to most popular destinations, Nam Du Archipelago, Ba Lua Archipelago, U Minh Thuong National Park, Phu Quoc Island, Vinpearl Land, Vinpearl Safari.
Kien Giang expects to attract over 7.1 million visitors, including 430,000 international tourists; and received a revenue of around VND5,900 billion in 2018.
