David Wootton, the Lord Mayor of the City of London, will lead a business delegation to visit Vietnam from September 22-26.
The Lord Mayor will meet Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung to discuss economic cooperation and UK assistance in financing large-scale infrastructure projects in Vietnam.
He will participate in activities in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City such as a seminar on financial services which will be attended by both UK and Vietnamese enterprises; and a working session with the Ministry of Planning and Investment on Public Private Partnership pilot projects.
The Lord Mayor’s two day visit is expected to raise trade turnover to US$4 billion by 2013 and also increase UK foreign direct investment in Vietnam.
