Legendary metal rock band Scorpions to rock the capital

The most famous German rock band in world's stage, Scorpions will perform in the Monsoon Music Festival 2016 that will take place at Thang Long Imperial Citadel in Hanoi on October 23, according to the organization board at the press conference on August 15.

Music composer Quoc Trung, director of the Monsoon Music Festival 2016 said the performance will be part of the band’s 50th anniversary World Tour.

The band (photo), is described as Continental Europe's most successful rock band formed in 1965 in Hannover, Germany. The group ncludes Klaus Meine (vocals), Rudolf Schenker (rhythm guitar), Matthias Jabs (lead guitar), Francis Buchholz(bass guitar), and Herman Rarebell (drums).

They have released even 27 compilation albums, 74 singles and 18 studio albums of which the best-selling is “Crazy World” which also includes their most popular song “Wind of Change” Other hits performed by them are also: “Still Loving”, “Send Me An Angel”, “No One Like You”, “Maybe I, Maybe You” and many others. "Still Loving You" ranked 22nd place among the greatest ballads. Globally, Scorpions have sold more than 100 million copies of their albums with more than 5,000 concerts in 80 countries.

Scorpions are celebrating a half-century of rock with the release of their 19th studio album, “Return to Forever”, and a global 50th anniversary tour.

The Monsoon Music Festival 2016 themed “I participate- I act- I change- I share”  will attract the participation of many local and international artists and bands from October 21-23. The international music event was held for the first time in 2014 and received major public appraise.
