The “Legacy” concert, one of the music shows celebrating the 60th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music will be held on June 24.

The concert will present to music lovers remarkable works of two renowned German composers, Ludwig van Beethoven and Johannes Brahms. The intense melodies of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5, one of the most famous symphonies in the world, and the gigantic Piano Concerto No. 1 by Brahms which is not performed frequently in Vietnam will stimulate and evoke the full range of audiences’ emotions.

Beethoven composed the Symphony No. 5 in 1808 when he was 37 years old. The symphony consists of four movements which includes the familiar iconic “knock by fate” theme of the 1st movement. The whole symphony is the journey through 4 stages of feeling, the desperate fear, the tense struggle, the final victory, praising love life.

The Piano Concerto No. 1 in D minor is one of the most monumental concertos written for Piano and Orchestra. Brahms given the premiere at Hannover, Germany in 1853.
