Former Music Director of the Tokyo City Ballet Company, conductor Yoshikazu Fukumura, will lead a concert March 26 at the Ho Chi Minh City Music Conservatory (HCMCMC).
Titled “New Concert,” the show promises to breathe new life into classical pieces.
The program will also feature a performance by runner-up of the 2007 “Concous Autumn” Contest, pianist Nguyen Tuan Manh.
The musician will return to the city after having completed several tours through Norway as part of the Ultima Music Collaboration Project by the HCMCMC and Norway.
The most anticipated feature of the show will be the “La scala di seta” overture by Italian composer G. Rossini. The operatic farsa comica features the relationships between four main characters and the manner in which they resolve their issues.
Pianist Manh will then present two works, including Konzertusk in F minor by C.M.V Weber and Andante Spianato and Grande Polonaise Brillante by F. Chopin, with accompaniment from the orchestra.
Four movements from Symphony No.104 in D major “London” by F.J. Haydn will round out the show.
