Japanese cherry blossom festival kicks off in HCMC

Residents in Ho Chi Minh City had a chance to contemplate Japanese cherry blossom in the flower festival which was held in the section B of September 23 Park in District 1 in two days April 22 and 23.

Residents in Ho Chi Minh City had a chance to contemplate Japanese cherry blossom in the flower festival which was held in the section B of September 23 Park in District 1 in two days April 22 and 23.

The festival aims to introduce Japanese and Vietnamese cultural features as well as trade and commercial promotion between the two countries to HCMC residents and international friends.

according to the organizer including the city steering board for big festival, International Cultural Association Wanoki and Advanced International Joint Stock Company (AIC Group).

The highlight of the festival is 130 cherry trees and over 10,000 cherry branches directly taken from Japan to HCMC.

Attended the festival were former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung ; city’s former Party Secretary Le Thanh Hai; city’s Party Secretary Dinh La Thang ; Chairman of city People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong; special consultant of the Japanese Prime Minister  Isao Iijima ; Japanese Consul General Nakajima Satoshi

As many as artists of the two countries partook in the festival to present special musical performance.
