Planning and Investment Minister Bui Quang Vinh and Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Hiroshi Fukada signed an ODA loan agreement in Hanoi on January 15.
Under the agreement, Japan will provide more than 95 billion JPY for Vietnam in fiscal 2015 for major infrastructure projects, including Da Nang-Quang Ngai expressway and Hai Phong’s Lach Huyen port, supporting to Vietnam in coping with climate change.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Minister affirmed the Japan’s ODA has contributed greatly to the Vietnam's growth, especialy in the building infrastructure sector.
Japan is the largest donor country in Official Development Assistance (ODA) to Viet Nam. Their ODA pledge to the country has been approximately 2,600 billion JPY since 1992.
