According to the representative office of Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) in Vietnam, the regulation aims to prevent and control infectious diseases on cattle as African swine fever, foot and mouth diseases.
In case of carrying any of these products, immigrants have to fill out the declaration form for arrivals and declare information at the quarantine station of airports and seaports.
Passengers will be penalized up to KRW 10 million (around VND 200 million) when they carry these products without declaration; and additional penalties such as banning entry or restraining stay for foreign passengers.
Tourists carrying pork products from the countries hit by the diseases will be respectively penalized KRW 5 million for the first time, KRW 7.5 million for the second and KRW 10 million for the third violate of regulations.
