Overloaded hospitals in the South Vietnam have reduced much, said head of the Health Ministry’s Medical Examination and Treatment Department Luong Ngoc Khue at an annual meeting held by the Ministry with the leaders of hospitals in the South in Ho Chi Minh City on March 3.
Dr. Khue said that hospitals has cut down steps in medical check-up procedure and waiting time to see doctors.
However, conditions in major hospitals have not been remarkably improved because people tend to have medical check-up in major hospitals, resulting in overloaded hospitals despite hospitals’ efforts to reduce it, he reported.
Two patients still stay in one bed, he added.
Dr. Khue asked hospital managers to promise enough beds for patients.
Afterwards, 35 over 39 major national hospitals (accounting for 90 percent) promised to have enough beds for patients while 29 over 31 big hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City promised to have enough beds for patients.
