On August 21, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade held a working session with the National Power Transmission Corporation, the Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation, the Department of Agriculture and Environment, and relevant commune- and ward-level authorities to review difficulties and obstacles and seek solutions to expedite the implementation of power projects across the city.

According to the Southern Power Projects Management Board under the National Power Transmission Corporation, the unit is currently focusing on seven key power grid projects in the city. However, the biggest challenge is the approval of compensation plans and disbursement of compensation funds. The issue has been attributed to rising land prices, which have pushed total investment costs above the initially approved levels.

Deputy Director of the Southern Power Projects Management Board, Phan Le Nhan, pledged to complete the necessary procedures to secure funding for compensation payments within the coming week.

In the inner-city area, the 220kV Dam Sen Substation project and the 220kV-110kV Cau Bong-Binh Tan transmission line project remain stalled due to issues related to land handover.

According to Deputy Director of the Power Grid Project Management Board under the Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation, Tran Hai Dang, the 220kV Dam Sen Substation project is currently “bottlenecked” at a site managed by Phu Tho Tourism Services JSC.
