The Miss Ethnic Vietnam Pageant 2011 will be held in Ho Chi Minh City by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Truong Thi May is the first runner-up of the 2007 Miss Ethnic Vietnam Pageant.
As per the program schedule, the final round of the pageant will be held in Ho Chi Minh City in October. The semi-final rounds for the northern and southern regions will be held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in November.
The dates for the final round of the Miss Ethnic Vietnam Pageant 2011 are November 26 to December 10.
The pageant aims to honour the culture of all ethnic groups in Vietnam. All contestants will be Vietnamese women between the ages of 18-28 years, who are living and working in Vietnam.
The ministry has asked relevant departments to check all contestants and advise them against wearing very revealing clothes that would undermine and show the Vietnamese customs and traditions in a bad light. During the last pageant, some contestants wore very revealing clothes and this year any offender will be fined from VND2 - 5 million.
