The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport has told contractors to halt the public works they are doing by digging up roads and make all roads usable by Tet (the lunar New Year) on February 14.
It wants the task to be started at 194 sites on 81 streets on February 6.
These include some major roads like Cach Mang Thang Tam, Tran Hung Dao, and Truong Chinh.
Most of them 194 works have been commissioned by the HCMC Environment Sanitation Project and are related to the Nhieu Loc-Thi Nghe Canal and its basin, the East-West Highway, the Water Environment Improvement Project, and the Urban Upgrade Project at the Tan Hoa-Lo Gom canal.
The Nhieu Loc-Thi Nghe Canal project alone involves 93 works on 23 roads.
