Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo Member and Secretary of the HCMC Party Committee; Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong, Party Central Committee Member, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, and Deputy Minister of National Defense; Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, Party Central Committee Member and Commander of Military Region 7; Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nam, Member of the Standing Committee of the HCMC Party Committee, Commander of the HCMC Military Command, and Permanent Vice Chairman of the HCMC Military Service Council; Mr. Huynh Thanh Nhan, Vice Chairman of the HCMC People's Council, along with District 7 leaders, 179 new recruits, and their families.

Encouraging the recruits before their departure, Mr. Chau Xuan Dai Thang, Acting Chairman of the District 7 People's Committee, highlighted the importance of continuing the legacy of their ancestors and following President Ho Chi Minh’s teaching: "The Hung Kings founded the nation, and we must work together to protect it." He emphasized that the youth of District 7 and HCMC as a whole are proudly stepping forward to fulfill their sacred duty to the Fatherland.

He expressed confidence that the recruits would uphold their homeland’s traditions, honor the legacy of past generations, and embody the noble qualities of "Uncle Ho’s Soldiers" and the "People’s Police." He urged them to stay dedicated, train diligently, follow military discipline, and excel in their assigned duties.
The Chairman of the District 7 People's Committee called on Party committees, local authorities, the Fatherland Front, departments, organizations, and the people of District 7 to effectively implement policies supporting military families. He emphasized the need for regular encouragement, care, and timely, practical support for the families of new recruits and servicemembers, ensuring they can confidently fulfill their duties. He affirmed that this is a shared responsibility of the entire political system in the mission of building and defending the Fatherland.

Speaking on behalf of the new recruits, young Party member Pham Vo Quoc Khanh expressed his pride and deep sense of duty to the Fatherland. He acknowledged the sacrifices of previous generations who fought for the country’s independence and freedom, enabling today’s youth to live in peace and prosperity.

In 2025, HCMC is deploying 4,987 citizens for military and public security service, including 4,000 for military duty and 987 for the People's Public Security Force. Military Region 7 has also assigned the city to recruit three female soldiers. HCMC has the highest recruitment target in the country. District 7 is sending 179 young people, including 143 for military service and 36 for the People's Public Security Force, successfully meeting 100 percent of the city's recruitment targets.
