More than 50 art performances celebrating New Year 2015 will be held throughout Hanoi from December 31 to January 1.
Activities will take place on open-air stages in Cach Mang Thang Tam (August Revolution) Square in front of the Hanoi Opera House, in front of Ba Kieu Temple in Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Thien Quang Lake and cultural houses in all districts.
Alongside famous songs honoring patriotism, the Party, and capital, concerts will include famous extracts of cheo (traditional opera) play Thi Mau Len Chua (Thi Mau Visits a Pagoda) and cai luong (reformed opera) Tron Doi Trung Hieu Dat Thang Long (Forever Loyal to Thang Long).
International and Vietnamese disc jockeys will burn up the capital in a special New Year’s Eve countdown in Thien Quang lake on the evening of December 31.
Pop stars such as Ho Ngoc Ha, Tuan hung, Bui Anh Tuan, Hoang Ton, Hoang Thuy Linh and amongs will join the event. They will play from 8 pm until well after midnight to welcome the New Year.
Two special TV programmes, Thanks from Vietnam 2014 and Hello 2015 – New Year Concert, which are produced by Viet Nam Television will be aired on VTV4 at 7.30pm and VTV1 at 8.10pm.
Hello 2015 – New Year Concert features Vietnamese celebrity singers such as My Tam, Ho Quynh Huong, Tran Thu Ha, Thanh Lam, Tung Duong, Dong Hung and Phuong Thanh, who will perform more than 40 Vietnamese and international songs from Vietnamese and world-famous movies.
Thanks from Vietnam 2014 will honors international organisations, individuals and Vietnamese people living abroad who have outstanding contribution to the country's development. Ca tru (ceremonial singing) performer Ha My, singer Ngoc Anh, Meritorious Artist Hong Lien will perform in the event.
